Shelly

Shelly is a Senior Registered Nurse at Maine Vana. Her nursing career started in Zimbabwe in 1974 and her career includes roles in Health Promotion, Midwifery and Health Education. For the last 21 years, Shelly has worked in the UK care home sector, and she brings a depth of knowledge in Elderly Care including vast experience and expertise in care of individuals with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Dziki

Dziki is a Co-Director of Maine Vana and has over 19 years’ experience working in healthcare in different roles which include: healthcare assistant, operating department practitioner and she is a registered nurse. Dziki is passionate about serving those in her local community and volunteers for a local organisation that supports families.

Dziki is Shelly’s eldest daughter.

Chen

Chen is the Co-Director of Maine Vana. As a former registered nurse, Chen has experience of delivering care in the NHS and private sector, and she understands what it takes to deliver quality care both in the homecare and hospital settings. She has a keen interest in DIY and gardening, and she would love to ensure that clients are encouraged and supported to partake in hobbies/activities that help them to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing. Chen currently volunteers at a local nursing home, where her duties include maintaining a walk-through garden that the residents can enjoy.

Chen is Shelly’s daughter.

Tak

Tak is a registered Osteopath with a Master’s degree from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. Tak treats general musculoskeletal conditions such as neck, shoulder, and back injuries amongst others. In addition, Tak also specialises in lymphatic drainage massage. He uses different modalities such as dry needling and kinesiology taping. Tak has experience of working in care. During his studies, he worked as a Support Worker, supporting clients with epilepsy and learning difficulties. In his spare time, Tak plays cricket for his local team.

Tak is Shelly’s son.
